Our School

Curvin McCabe Elementary School is located at 466 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, RI 02861.

We serve approximately 450 students in Kindergarten through grade 5. 

Working hard to provide your child(ren) with the best possible elementary education are a principal, secretary, school nurse, 22 classroom teachers, 6 special educators, an ELL specialist, a reading specialist, a librarian, a music teacher, art teacher, phys.ed teacher, a social worker, speech language pathologist, part-time school psychologist, part-time OT, part-time PT, part-time DPT, 6 teacher assistants, 3 custodians, 1 cafeteria attendant,  and 3 kitchen staff.

School Safety


Children should not be on school grounds prior to 8:10am.

Please do not drive through, park, or “wait” in the teachers’ parking lot to drop off or pick up children.

Building security: when entering the building, please be sure to use the front door entrance    only. All parents and visitors must check in with the clerk upon entering the building, sign in, and obtain a visitor’s pass before moving about the building.

Early dismissal– a driver’s      license or photo ID card is required when dismissing your child from school early.

Attendance: students are        expected to be in school unless illness or family emergency keeps them from attending. On the day a student is absent from school, a parent/guardian should notify the school by phone at (401)729-6258 Upon returning to school, students must bring a written excuse from a parent/guardian stating the date and reason for the absence.

Tardiness: all students who are late for school must first report to the main office to obtain a late slip.
